Young people are constantly being put into generations. Gen Z, millennials, whatever comes next, but those labels are defined by when you happened to be born. So I created a different one.
A generation you could choose to belong to, defined by your attitude rather than your age: people who make things happen, challenge what exists and believe they can shape what comes next. That idea became the campaign platform, visual identity and tone of voice.
Statements like I make things happen, I don’t wait for change and My future starts now gave young people something to recognise in themselves, while the distinctive red graphic device turned the idea into a flexible visual system.
The campaign launched with film, then expanded through social, photography, graduate and intern stories, careers content, merchandise and campus activity.
I created the campaign concept and developed the art direction, design and tone of voice. I also worked with a filmmaker to shoot real Vodafone graduates and interns, then oversaw the edit to make sure their stories still felt part of the same Generation Possible world.
